Stag Cottage, Sutton Near Macclesfield

We came here as a family of 4 for a long weekend and it truly was lovely , the energy felt so fung shui, everything looked and smelt beautiful. I had the full weekend planned but tbh my kids didnt really want to leave so we stayed at the cottage mostly with a couple of outings , finished off with a Sunday lunch at the rose and crown 4 minutes away. It was so warm and cozy watching films and feeding the hens and Daniel the cockerel he made sure we woke up on a morning that is for sure

4 nights of pure luxury all wrapped up in a farmhouse cottage feeling. We had a brilliant time at Stag Cottage me my wife and our 3 kids. The hosts were really welcoming and checked in with us throughout our stay. Local scenery and walks are fantastic. Cannot reccomend enough.

This was everything we expected it to be a lovely property lovingly restored into a fantastic holiday cottage in a peaceful location but on a working farm. Liz our host was very helpful and even found time to have a quick chat with my wife about dogs. I would be more than happy to come and spend another weekend at the property and the family can be and should be very proud.

We recently returned from a wonderful 2 night stay at Stag Cottage. My mum, two sisters and I chose this cottage because it looked beautiful and relaxing for our annual weekend away, and it exceeded our expectations. The cottage is really spacious but felt extremely cosy and homely. It was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, with fantastic attention to detail. The setting is just perfect, so peaceful, surrounded by beautiful countryside, but close enough to places of interest and towns to visit and explore. The hosts were lovely and communication was excellent. We felt so at home at Stag Cottage and didn't want to leave. We left feeling relaxed and wellrested and can't wait to return. We recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful break in a stunning cottage and location.

We had the most amazing family break for 4 nights at stag cottage! The property was beautiful with lots of little touches for home comforts and attention to detail to make it so easy to relax! The kitchen was very well equipped with everything we needed to make our meals each evening, the living areas were very comfortable and the beds were even more comfortable! There is nothing I could think to improve our stay or anything that was missing the information pack is very informative and we had check ins from the host who supported us in a timely manner with a query!

We had a lovely time in Stag cottage. A beautiful place, quiet and relaxing. Perfect comfortable cottage with everything you need. Was a pleasure to meet the owners who are always on hand in the unlikely event you'd have a problem. Beautiful scenery and lots of walks and hikes close by and then a nice relax in the hot tub afterwards. Enjoy this lovely cottage and make it you home.

The cottage really is lovely, the owner has done a brilliant job of renovating, designing and furnishing. The farm is in a lovely area and the surrounding views are stunning. 2nd time we have spent our anniversary there and we will return, cant recommend enough.

We absolutely loved our stay at Stag Cottage. Its honestly one of the loveliest places weve ever stayed as a family. Ive genuinely never felt more at home away from my own home so present and relaxing! The cottage is spotless, beautifully decorated and feels cosy the second you walk in. Everything was amazing from start to finish so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Our children didnt want to leave and have already asked when we can come back! The location is gorgeous, peaceful and perfect for switching off. From the warm AGA, log burners, huge bath to the hot tub everything was perfect. Every room has its own scent and style. We cant wait to return at Christmas and again in the summer holidays. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a luxury countryside break! X

Had a lovely stay at Stag Cottage which is in such beautiful surroundings . This was our second visit. The cottage is very welcoming and warm and comfortable too and the decor is superb. Kelvin and Liz went above and beyond when we were stranded due to storm Claudia and got us back safely!

Stag cottage was stunning, every home comfort you could imagine, the kitchen and living area exquisite, beds were so comfy and spacious, decorations, furniture and light fittings to an extremely high standard set in a fantastic setting. We will definitely be back !!

Stag Cottage is amazing the photos do not do it justice. Immaculately and tastefully decorated, excellent facilities, great location. I couldn't have wished for more for a very special few days away. It exceeded all of my expectations.

This was 5 star accommodation. It was very comfortable and cosy. I would recommend this cottage to anyone. The pubs around served great food and the surrounding area was great to explore.

One year on from our first stay at Stag Cottage and it was still as perfect as our first visit. The cottage itself is spacious, clean to an exceptional high standard and simply beautiful. The surroundings are picturesque and pure bliss nestled on a working farm. Theres something really calming about opening your curtains on a morning looking out onto fields of sheep & cows. The hosts are great, very welcoming and friendly and cannot do enough for you making sure you have a memorable stay. You can make your days as busy or as relaxed as youd like here. There are multiple local walks in the area, youre spoilt for choice! We also visited Wincle brewery and a local pub along the road, The Ryles Arms, for food one evening and it was lovely. We will definitely be back again to this special place.

This was one of the best locations and accommodation we have ever stayed. The attention to detail was amazing and the quality of all the fittings and equipment first class.Having travelled the world I can honestly say this rates in our top five in the world .I rarely write feedback but can confidently say this is a great place to visit and enjoy the peace and tranquility if the Peak district .

A Perfect Country Escape What a wonderful getaway! The cottage was cozy, peaceful, and full of charmjust what our family needed to unwind from city life. The hosts were truly fantasticso welcoming and easy to chat with, like catching with old friends. Beautiful surroundings, fresh air, and plenty of space for the kids to explore. We couldnt have asked for more. Highly recommended! We will return!

We chose Stag Cottage to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary and it did not disappoint. Beautiful home with lovely furnishings and it smelt divine. Real attention to detail throughout. Liz was so very warm and welcoming, but the highlight was the Chickens which we named the Fantastic Four really tame and came to see us several times over the two days. Thank you.

Weve just had the best week ever. The cottage is more than just somewhere to stay, its the most relaxing place ever. The decor make it so relaxing we had to force ourselves to go out. Kelvin, Liz and family are a pleasure to meet. Liz went above and beyond to make our 40th Wedding Anniversary special . Thank you so much Liz. We are booking to come back in Winter time to enjoy the log fires

Beautiful cottage with spectacular scenery, the facilities were amazing, we had the most relaxing week. Lisa and family were superb hosts and very welcoming. The area is lovely you need a car to explore but theres plenty to do and all the locals are really friendly too! Weve just booked again for next year, I have 10 months to brush up on my Aga skills! Highly recommended

Fantastic cottage! We will be back for sure. Everything was 1010. The owners were lovely and couldn't do more for you. The cottage was extremely clean and beautifully decorated. This was by far one of the nicest cottages we have stayed.

A beautiful well appointed property in a great location . Loved walking into the kitchen and the warmth from the aga gave it such a cosy feel. Such character too from the furnishings and old beams everywhere. We have re booked again for next year..can't wait!!

We had a wonderful Stay at Stag Cottage. It is absolutely stunning, surrounded by beautiful countryside with sheep right outside the window and chickens running wild. The decor and furnishings are of a very high standard which provide a lovely luxurious stay. Everywhere smelt beautiful and the cottage was much bigger than wed imagined. We really couldnt fault a thing, we didnt want to go out, we just wanted to enjoy the tranquil luxuriousness that is Stag Cottage.

We all felt very much at home at stag cottage . It was of the highest standard in every way . It was so peaceful and relaxing , we didnt want to leave . We would have loved to have stayed longer but work and school cut our stay too short . We met the owners who were extremely friendly, it was a pleasure to meet them . A beautiful, super clean farmhouse cottage with many lovely features, including the countryside views, amazing sunsets, plus the use of a grand piano and a hottub. The beds and sofas were extremely comfortable! We could have stayed inside all day! My daughter said it was her dream house! We enjoyed the pubs just a short drive away and soaked in the stunning countryside views a perfect position for a holiday cottage break.

If your looking for a complete switch off and the ability to be surrounded by pure nature then look no further. Stag cottage was the perfect place for us as a family to enjoy some stress free time together. What a beautiful holiday cottage. It was everything wed hoped for, thank you. It was lovely to meet the Fletcher family, too, and to get a tiny glimpse into their farm life. We were really lucky with the sunny weather, although it wasnt warm, but the Aga in the kitchen made it toasty all the time. The only one tiny thing wed change, given the choice, would be to swap the welcome bottle of wine for tea, coffee and milk! Lovely break, thank you, and well hope to return another time and have a drive if the tractor!

Left a note for the owner on our departure to thank them accordingly for a magical stay. I did however find communication prior to the booking and on the day of travel difficult especially with Sykes cottages who make a simple telephone call for advice very difficult. Rather the automated service is always trying to divert you to make an online query. That is not good customer service.

Stag Cottage is superb in every respect. The level of comfort and facilities are outstanding. We received a warm, friendly welcome from Liz and Kelvin who were most helpful. The cottage is situated in stunning countryside and it was great to be in a farm environment, once more. We had a relaxing break and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We cannot recommend Stag Cottage highly enough and look forward to our next visit.

We had a wonderful and unforgettable stay over the Christmas week, it could not have been more comfortable and welcoming. Lovely cottage set in the stunning location of the Peak District. Added bonus for my wife who works on a farm and is a farm nut that it is on the grounds of a working farm so close proximity to the animals and we enjoyed meeting most of them on our walks. Cottage is very well designed and furnished inside, very warm due to the aga and gives you a proper farmhouse cottage feel. Lovely homely kitchen and great bathroom. The owners couldnt have been more welcoming and accommodating, already booked back up for a winter visit next year.

What a place! Absolutely gorgeous. My favourite thing was learning to use an Aga and how it is so multifunctional. Everything has been thought of to make your stay so comfortable. When you are townies like us, to go somewhere so peaceful and dark takes some getting used to but we soon got used to it. Communication was fab from hosts too. Thanks so much, we will be back.

One of the most beautiful cottages we have stayed in. Had everything you need for a weekend away. The cottage was so clean and the setting was gorge. The renovation of the cottage is amazing and the interiors are to a very high spec. Had a great time visiting locals caves and walks.

We were totally blown away with how beautiful Stag Cottage is. Every single detail in the decor and furnishings has been thought of. Liz and Kelvin were amazing hosts reassuring us if we needed anything we only needed to ask. Nestled on the farm you are surrounded by rolling hills and countryside. We could not recommend a stay here enough. We have already booked again for next year!

This place is truly special. The interior of the cottage is everything you could wish for, it feels like pure luxury yet so cosy and a home from home feel. So spacious, and the most comfortable bed ever! The location is great, the property is easy to locate and youre only a short drive from many surrounding places to visit, plenty lovely local pubs to chose from and loads of nice walks to adventure on in The Peak District, and even directly from the cottage. The wildlife & animals surrounding the property is wonderful to see and it gives the perfect rural setting, with the added bonus of a hot tub under the starry skies. This place allows you the perfect mix, for either a relaxing break to do nothing but chill or explore the area and go on an adventure, we were spoilt for choice. The hosts couldnt have been more accommodating and helpful, they have really created something special here, we were absolutely gutted to leave but it just means we have to come again! This place unknowingly to me at the time would also become the place I got engaged which only added to the whole experience. I couldnt have wished for anything more, thank you for everything.
