Old Rectory House Reviews

Absolutely fantastic property only topped by the host Stuart, who is such a gent. He even played the piano for us on the first day! He was quick to help out and really was the icing on top for us. House has everything you need, lots of space to spend time with others. Kitchen is well equipped, although I think more fridge space would have been useful. Living room is great, fireplace too! Bedrooms are comfortable as are the bathrooms water was always hot too! Heating was good and kept us warm. 2 sets of washers and dryers too! Hot tub and pool were fantastic, we didn't really use the shared games room. Cinema room was cozy, but again we didn't use it a lot. Location is great, there are some really nice hikes nearby. And the views from the dining roomkitchen are stunning! Would most definitely recommend.
Christine
We absolutely loved The Old Rectory in every way! 15 of us had a wonderful time. Stuart was very weighing and helpful. The facilities were the best we have ever experienced and we have been going away together for 30 years which shows how very special this gorgeous home is. Thank you so much!
This is a rare example of a house that massively exceeded expectations. Not only was the setting beautiful and the rooms and living spaces nicely designed, the amenities are incredible, its easy to find and because of the pool and the games room the many kids we were with were entertained all weekend. We are already planning on returning!
Deborah

An outstanding, well maintained property, it exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was well equipped for the number of guests. We enjoyed the spacious kitchendining area. The beds were comfortable and with each room having an ensuite was an advantage. We all loved the pool, games room and hot tub. Stuart was very helpful and ensured we had a great stay. Without doubt, the best holiday home in which we have ever stayed. There is no way I could fault it.Stuart was the perfect host and was there to greet us and to say goodbye at the end of our fabulous week. Even the weather was kind to us.
The Old Rectory provided us with a wonderful holiday home. Well stocked with everything we needed. Fabulous rooms and plenty for the children to do with the pool and games room. Stuart was a phone call away if we had any issues and brought over a cot when our travel cot collapsed!
Anthony
We had an amazing week in this lovely house which caters for all ages. It was wonderful waking up to the views and we were lucky with the weather which helped.
We had a very warm welcome from the owner Stuart who was a great help to us on our first visit to the house. We absolutely fell in love with the big house and enjoyed every minute of our stay. We could not fault a thing. Beautiful house and very big. There is no need to leave the house everything you need is here. We had a ball and cannot wait to return. Thank you Stuart. The Adams Family
A fantastic house with plenty of space to entertain for multiple guests. Amazing scenery and a brilliant host.
Kitchen and toilets very clean but cobwebs and dust in other rooms. No baking trays in kitchen and only one pair of scissors. Some box mattresses were too firm and there were no hairdryers. Shampoo and body wash would have been useful in pool showers. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was an ideal property and situation for our family gathering.
The property absolutely blew us all away, and was even more stunning than the pictures. Everything about our stay was perfect and Stuart was very accommodating and did everything to make us feel most comfortable. I have already recommended the property to multiple other people and would love to return in the future
Louise
Amazing house! Beautiful bedrooms, a huge kitchen, and lovely reception rooms, all better than described. Large swimming pool was a bonus. Countryside around is great and we enjoyed walking around Montgomery. I would recommend this house for large family gatherings.
Our stay at the old rectory house was absolutely fantastic. Huge house very clean and the pool and games room were brilliant. Stuart the owner was such a lovely man and always available if we needed him. Would massively recommend and will most definitely be staying again in the future.
We all had an amazing time at the house. The facilities are the best we never got bored so much to do swimming, hot tub, games room, cinema room. We had the best time i would definitely recommend for a family getaway.
A stunning house and a real home from home feel for our stay between Christmas and New Year. The house had been decorated for Christmas which was a lovely bonus too. We were a mixed family group ranging from 82 years old to under one. The owner popped by regularly to check on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Already looking at going back.
Lovely property had everything you would need, very clean, great to have use of the pool and games room, we had a lovely stay and would return in the future.
The property was fantastic. Truly spectacular. It had everything and more for a large family. Close to the local town. Incredible views. 1010 stay. Would highly recommend.
We were a large group of 7 couples who have been holidaying together for about 9 years. This is the best property we have stayed in so far. The communal space was generous enough to allow different interest groups to congregate in different rooms, tho we actually tended to all end up in the huge kitchendiningsitting room where we could enjoy the spectacular views. It was really useful to have all rooms ensuite downstairs bedroom not ensuite but bathroom just next door and away from everyone The house was decorated and furnished to a high standard and was extremely comfortable as well as being spacious. We felt like nothing had been overlooked. Utility room was well equipped and spacious which enabled us to store all our groceries, as we take it in turns to cook we always have a lot of bags! Theres one tall fridgefreezer and one undercounter fridge, we could have done with a bit more fridge space for our group as we have lots of different dietary requirements so people bring their own food. Two ovens were so useful, huge kitchen island made a great buffetself serve station. Need more tea towels! The swimming pool, hot tub and games room were big bonuses and were used a lot. Gardens were also really lovely, we really couldnt fault anything. Stuart, the owner, was so friendly and helpful he actually became one of the group! Nothing was too much trouble for him and he made our stay extra special. We will definitely be back.
Simply outstanding. Everything had been thought of to make sure our stay was as luxurious and comfortable as possible. Spectacular location, highly highly recommended. Five stars plus, we would come back tomorrow
Fantastic place to stay. Has all you would need.
Rebecca
We had a wonderful time at the Old Rectory. Stuart was wonderful at helping us settled in and making sure we had everything we needed. The house is a great spce with something for everyone we were aged 1180 and plenty of space to congregate together or take time out. The only thing to be aware of is that you need a car and to be prepared to travel for days out, though there are plenty of places to visit within an hour of the house.
Selina
Stuart was absolutely amazing. This place is unreal and I cannot recommend enough. We will definitely be going back again, loved every minute of it.
Neelam
I have just come back from spending a long weekend at the house. We all couldn't have been happier. The house absolutely exceeded what we thought. So much space, views that were absolutely breathtaking. Stuart was on hand to deal with any questions we had. He couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely tell family and friends .
Shirley

Everyone in our party commented on how wonderful a time they had for a 3 night stay. We would all definitely visit again. Thank you to Stuart for all your help during our stay. We really appreciate it.

An absolutely amazing property in a fantastic location with wonderful views, could not ask for a better place to stay with family and friends for a break. A wonderful host who met us at the property to show us around and very kindly gave us a show on piano. Thank you Stuart.
Gareth
Wow what a property! We had the most amazing time staying as a family of 15. Every little detail had been thought about and the house was immaculate, we couldn't have asked for anything more. Perfect if you have children with the pool, games room and cinema room. Stuart was a fantastic host and his piano skills are tremendous!! We will definitely be back to stay again.
Joanna
This is an amazing house with everything you could possibly want. Fantastic views and a fabulous location.
Jaspreet
The Old Rectory house exceeded our expectations. From the views, to the gorgeous property to the generous host, everything was just as wed want it to be.
Everything at the house was delightful and so pleasing All the furnishings were stylish and high quality and the beds very comfortable We had so much room and so many facilities to enjoy so the weather was unimportant. We received a great welcome and prompt attention to our additional requests and especially, we did enjoy the impromptu piano concert! Our only suggestions would be that there could be some larger serving dishes cooking pans and dishes were plentiful but as we were cooking for a large group and the house sleeps 16, they would be very useful Altogether it was a privilege to stay in such a lovely house and setting
Stunning location and fantastic amenities. Stuart was a great host.
We had a wonderful few days in this amazing property. The views were beautiful and the area was very peaceful and the facilities at the property were excellent. We loved it so much we hope to return next year and it's ideal for large families or groups of friends as there's plenty of room to spread out. Everything very comfortable and we had a wonderful game of hide and seek in all the various rooms this property has to offer. Can thoroughly recommend it.
Great high quality property with lots of facilities and a friendly owner.
This is just an amazing house with stunning views all along the valley. Having a swimming pool to use with this house is great when you have young children. All the bedrooms with en suites and the whole house is just so spacious when your family come on holiday with you.Stuart is a wonderful host and just makes you feel welcome from the very start of your holiday. We hope to return again for a family holiday again .
